Brayden Snow and Rachel MacLean teams go undefeated to win PEI Under 16 Championships

The Brayden Snow rink from the host Silver Fox Curling Club, and the Rachel MacLean team from the Cornwall Curling Club both went undefeated with 5-0 win-loss records this weekend to win the provincial Under 16 Curling Championships. Snow, backed up by third Cruz Pineau, second stone Brock Rochford, and lead Anderson MacDougall, with coach Shelley MacFadyen, was trailing 5-3 after four ends of play in the Sunday afternoon boy’s final, after the Chase MacMillan team from the Charlottetown Curling Complex stole three points in the fourth end. The teams traded deuces in the next two ends, with Snow tying the game with another pair in the seventh end, and pulling out an 8-7 win with a stolen single in the final end. The Chase MacMillan finalist team, who finished with a 2-2 win-loss record, also includes third Jack MacFadyen, second Liam Barbrick, and lead Davis Nicholson, and is coached by David MacFadyen. The third team in the boy’s event, the Samuel Shaw foursome from the Montague Curling rink finished without a win, but came within two points of the winning team in one of their matches.
