PEI men pick up pair of wins Sunday to improve to 2-3, while Island women still looking for 1st win at Canadian Seniors

The PEI men’s team, skipped by Philip Gorveatt out of the Charlottetown Curling Complex had a good day on Sunday, picking up a pair of wins at the Everest Canadian Seniors in Chilliwack BC — 11-4 over the Northwest Territories and 7-3 over Newfoundland and Labrador to improve to a 2-3 win-loss record, and need a win today in their final round-robin game against Nova Scotia’s Brent MacDougall team (2-2) to move into the top eight.

The PEI women, skipped by Kim Aylward from the Silver Fox curling club in Summerside lost to the top teams in their pool, Ontario and Manitoba, Sunday and slipped to 0-5. They hope to finish with a win as they wrap up play against the Yukon (1-4) today.
