Canad Inns Men’s Curling Classic in Manitoba cancelled

Despite the best efforts of the organizers, this weekend’s Canad Inns Men’s Curling Classic in Portage la Prairie Manitoba has been cancelled, after a snowstorm closed the Trans Canada highway and put the city in darkness by toppling a 115,000 volt electricity tower between the city and Brandon. PEI’s Adam Casey and Brett Gallant were among the scheduled participants in the event, which was to be livestreamed by CBC. Only three draws were completed on Friday before the event was postponed and then called off.
