On Tuesday night her career will be recognized with induction into the Prince Edward Island Curling Hall of Fame and Museum.
Muzika began curling at the Charlottetown Curling Club when she was in junior high school. Marty Winslow, the physical education teacher at Birchwood at the time, brought interested kids to the nearby club to learn the game.
Muzika’s first taste of victory in competitive play came in 1983 when she teamed with skip Heather Mader, third Janice MacCallum and lead Karolyn Godfrey to win the right to represent the Island at the Canada Games. The Marilyn Sutherland-coached squad finished tied for first in their pool at 3-2 but lost in a tiebreaker.
