In the Pepsi Junior Curling Championships at the Crapaud Community Curling Club, the Tyler Smith rink from the Montague Curling Rink have now captured both the A and B divisions of the modified triple knockout draw, and needs just one win out of a possible three games on Sunday to repeat as Pepsi Provincial Junior Men’s Champions, while their opponent, the winner of a 3 o’clock game this afternoon between Cornwall’s Mitchell Schut squad and the Brayden Snow foursome from Charlottetown and the Silver Fox would have to win all three — the “C” final at 9 am Sunday, followed by both championship round games, at 2 and 7 pm. Smith scored a triple and two four enders in an 11-2 decision over Schut on Saturday morning to win the “B” final.

Meanwhile, there are separate winners of the “A” and “B” sections of the four-team (all from the Cornwall Curling Club) junior women’s division, with defending champion Lauren Ferguson and her new team winning the “A”, but the Rachel MacLean rink, aided by an 8th end triple, beating Team Ferguson 8-5 in the “B” final. Ferguson takes on Clara Jack, while MacLean faces Katie Shaw in “C” semi-final action at 3 pm, with the winners advancing to the “C” final at 9 am Sunday. The Championship Round games go Sunday at 2 and, if needed, 7 pm.
