Play continued Sat. and Sun. at the PEI Seniors Curling Championships in Cornwall, with eight men’s and four women’s teams competing to advance to the 2020 Everest Canadian Senior Curling Championships, March 16-22 at the Portage Curling Club in Portage la Prairie, Man.
The Kim Dolan rink from the host Cornwall Curling Club and the defending champion Phil Gorveatt squad from Charlottetown remain undefeated with 5-0 and 6-0 records respectively and have captured both the A and B sections of the modified triple-knockout draw as well as advancing to the “C” qualifier games at 10 am Monday, against Cornwall’s Shirley Berry and Charlottetown’s John Likely rinks, respectively. A win in either the “C” Qualifier or one of the two championship round games Monday at 2 pm or Tuesday at 10 am would give Dolan and/or Gorveatt their respective titles, while Berry and Likely would have to win all three of their games to be declared champion.
