Brayden Snow rink wins U16 “A” final, Nathaniel Shaw squad captures “B” section, Brock Rochford team takes “C”

The eleven-team PEI Under 16 Curling Championships wrapped up Sunday afternoon at the Charlottetown Curling Club, with the Brayden Snow rink from the host club going undefeated to win the “A” division, beating the Ella Lenentine foursome from Cornwall in the final.

In the “A” Bronze medal game, the Samuel Shaw team from the Montague Curling Rink took five points in the final two ends in a come-from-behind win over the Clara Jack foursome from Cornwall.

In the “B” Division final, the Nathaniel Shaw foursome stole the extra end to get by their Montague clubmates the Sydney Carver team.

“B” Division third-place honours went to the Isaiah Dalton rink from the Cornwall Curling Club, who beat the Mallory Rochford team from the Silver Fox in the Bronze Medal game.

The “C” division playoffs used a round robin format, with the Brock Rochford team from the Silver Fox finishing first with a 2-0 record, followed by the Luke Butler team from Cornwall at 1-1.

Following the team presentations at the closing ceremonies, awards were presented for Sportsmanship, as voted on by the players, and Coaching, as voted on by the coaches in the event. The Sportsmanship award went to skip Brock Rochford while Landon Warder, coach of the Clara Jack team took the coaching award honours.
