Notice from Mrs. Stewart:

The Summerside Fire department will be doing a drive-by of our house on Sat. at 2:00 pm as a tribute to Leo. There will be a great deal of firetrucks and firemen driving by, and because of the Covid-19 restrictions at the funeral home, we can’t have a wake, so East Prince funeral home and Leo’s brothers at the fire department are going to have Leo there as well in the procession. So if anyone wants to say their goodbyes to Leo, you are welcome to come. We just ask you all to remain in your cars or practice social distancing. They will be leaving the Firehall in St. Eleanors at 1:45 pm, travelling down Glenn Dr., past our house on Fairway and then turning on to Bayview Dr. My family and I would like to thank everyone for all the love and support that we’ve received during this incredibly heartbreaking time. HUGS to you all!!! Please stay safe!!!!!

Tributes

Tribute from the Silver Fox Complex:

‘Our curling community and the Silver Fox Complex are reeling from the news that we lost our beloved friend and ice maker, Leo Stewart, early this morning.
There are no words for what we are feeling right now.
Leo had a presence and a personality like no one else and will be missed very much. He had his opinions, which he didn’t mind voicing but was always a sincere advocate for the club and Curling.
He was a charmer, and loved to offer a “private tour” of his ice-making office, always with a wink and a smirk.

Lots of love and good thoughts go out to his beautiful wife Mary, and his family and dear friends.
I wish we could celebrate your life in the way that you deserve, but know that this is a loss that cannot be filled’
