Defending Boy’s champions the Mitchell Schut Team, along with Lauren Ferguson, in U18 Harvest Spiel starting today in Halifax

Opening draw got underway at 8:30 this morning as Cornwall’s Mitchell Schut team, along with PEI native Lauren Ferguson, are competing in the Under 18 Harvest Spiel,  which wraps up Sunday at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax. Ferguson, now curling out of the Halifax Curling Club, is skipping a team which includes Cate Fitzgerald from her U21 rink (which is skipped by Taylour Stevens).
Team Schut also includes Chase MacMillan, Cruz Pineau, and Liam Kelly, and are the defending champions in this event, going undefeated last year.

(L-R) Coach Brenda MacMillan, skip Mitchell Schut, Chase MacMillan, Cruz Pineau, and Liam Kelly in the winner’s circle at last season’s event.

Eight teams are entered in this year’s Boys’ event, with 12 in the Girls’.
