Curl PEI returns to regular sweeping rules for upcoming Provincials, gives curling facilities the option to do so in regular play

On Monday, January 25, Curl PEI released to its Member Clubs its updated Operational Plan for how curling will be played on PEI during the 2020/21 season.  The revised Plan provides Member Clubs the option of removing the modification of only one sweeper per delivered stone and revert back to regular sweeping rules for all positions, in all disciplines.

Each Member Club now has the opportunity to decide whether they wish to use regular sweeping rules or continue with the modified sweeping rules.  Teams and individual curlers also have the right to continue with the modified sweeping rules.  Please consult with your Club and your opponents before play.

Curl PEI intends to use regular sweeping rules for the remaining Provincial events beginning with the PEI Scotties Tournament of Hearts and PEI Men’s Tankard this weekend at the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary.

The Curl PEI Operational Plan is reviewed on a regular basis and is designed to keep within the current Organized Recreational Activities and Team Sport Guidance document from the PEI Government.
