Kim Dolan rink goes undefeated to repeat as PEI Senior Women’s champs

The Kim Dolan rink from the Cornwall Curling Club won 4 straight games this weekend, 11-4 against clubmate Shirley Berry, 7-4 against Montague’s June Moyaert, 10-2 against Cornwall’s Sandy Hope, and 7-4 against Berry in the “C” Qualifier on Saturday evening to repeat as PEI Senior Women’s Champions. The championship was held at the Silver Fox in Summerside. Team Dolan was curling with three players in this event, as Kathy O’Rourke is at the Scotties in Calgary where she is alternate for Team Birt. Dolan called the games and threw final stones, while Julie Scales was vice-skip and threw the first three rocks, and Susan MacInnis threw rocks 4-6. With 4 players, their lineup (skip to lead) is Dolan, McInnis, O’Rourke, and Scales.

Under the rules, the June Moyaert team from Montague is designated as the “finalist” team.

Team Dolan will now advance to the Canadian Seniors, expected to be in December, at a venue yet to be announced.
