Seniors and Pepsi Juniors update: Gorveatt, Dolan, Schut still unbeaten, could win their respective Ch’ships Sat. eve. Seniors underway early

There’s a busy evening ahead at the Silver Fox Curling Club in Summerside, as the “C” Qualifiers for both the Seniors and the Pepsi Juniors are taking place, and three of the four events could wrap up.

The Seniors started early, around 5:30, with the Juniors getting underway at 7..

The Phil Gorveatt Senior Men’s team, the Kim Dolan Senior Women’s rink, and the Mitchell Schut Junior Men’s foursome remain unbeaten, winning their first two Qualifiers, and a win in their third Qualifier this evening would wrap up their series, without their Sunday championships. Gorveatt is again playing John Likely, while Dolan is playing Cornwall clubmate Shirley Berry, and Schut is playing Braydon Snow, also from Cornwall.

The Rachel MacLean and Katie Shaw teams have each won one championship round in the Junior Women’s event, and are squaring off at 7 pm. The winner of that game will have a “double life” in their Sunday championship round, winning the title if they take either game, while the other team would have to win both.

The Mitchell Schut and Brayden Snow teams are both streaming their games on their Facebook pages.

Sunday Championship Round games, if needed, go at 10 am and 3 pm.
