The weather is great for Today’s Curling Day in Stratford event, part of the nationwide Curling Day in Canada celebrations. Town staff applied a final flood on Friday morning prior to the rings and hacks being installed at the 15 Stratford Road Pondside Park rink.
Thanks to organizer Jody Jackson, along with the assistance provided by Jamie Jackson, Kevin Champion, Phil Gorveatt, Blair Weeks and Town of Stratford staff for all their assistance. While it won’t be arena ice conditions, it’s guaranteed to be fun!
Even though everyone will be playing outdoors and with appropriate social distancing, curlers are encouraged to wear a mask during the event.
The weather for Sunday isn’t looking great so they are going with a one-day event on Saturday only from 10-5. Anyone who had expressed interest in dropping by on Sunday is welcome to join them on Saturday. No cost to participate and the event, from 10 am to 5 pm is open to all ages and abilities.
As well as fun teams, they are also looking for anyone interested in trying curling to drop by!
