Curling or crokinole? New outdoor game at Tignish park fun for everyone (W. Prince Graphic)

Tignish’s recreation director isn’t sure what to call the new outdoor game at Bicentennial Park, apart from fun.

“It’s kind of a weird game,” said Tina Richard. “We had seen the (outdoor) crokinole game that somebody had made, but didn’t really have all the apparatuses for it, so we kind of made it between curling and crokinole.”

Merla Richard aims for the bullseye playing the new outdoor game at Bicentennial Park in Tignish. The hope was to have the game ready for the town’s winter carnival, but following the rise in COVID-19 cases and subsequent increase in social distancing regulations, that had to be cancelled. This didn’t stop Tignish’s recreation department from building the game, which is a combination of curling and crokinole. Submitted photo
