For Birt, and her team of Marie Christianson, Meaghan Hughes and Michelle McQuaid won 5-4 over Marlee Powers of Halifax Friday evening to sit at the top of the standings.
Birt, who defeated Lynn-Anne Brousseau of Montague 9-1 in the afternoon draw, will face Tanya Hilliard of Darthmouth, Nova Scotia on Saturday at 11am AT, then will take on Kristen MacDiarmid of Halifax on Saturday at 5pm.
