Amanda Power of Cornwall and Melissa Morrow of Crapaud, who battled in the B final earlier in the day — won by Power 8-2 — clash again at 7 p.m. tonight in the C final to decide on who, or possibility both, will advance into Sunday’s final day of play with DiCarlo.

Power is the only surviving team with one loss in the modified triple knockout championship while DiCarlo, who earlier won the A final to advance into Sunday’s playoff, and Morrow, both have two losses.

Should Power win tonight, it would knock Morrow out, setting up a Power-DiCarlo clash at 9 a.m. Sunday. DiCarlo would have to win twice to claim her first Scotties crown.

Should Morrow prevail tonight, it would result in the three surviving teams all having two losses heading into sudden-death action Sunday at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to see which team would claim its first provincial women’s curling title.

In C section semifinals at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sophie Blades of Summerside-Cornwall, gave up a pair of big ends to fall 12-4 against Power. Blades, who entered the game with two losses, gave up four in the 6th end and five more in the 8th when handshakes came out.

in the other C seminal at 2 p.m., Morrow jumped into a 5-2 lead after four ended against Tammy Dewar from Cornwall, then stole two in the 5th for a comfortable 7-2 lead. Dewar battled back with singles in six and seven but a Morrow triple in the 8th saw handshakes.

In Saturday’s 9 a.m. opening action, Blades stole five ends against DiCarlo enroute to a 9-3 win. Blades fell behind 2-0 in the first end but rallied to tie the game 3-3 at the 5th end break, and then stole six points over the next four ends as DiCarlo shook hands after nine.

The win kept Blades alive with two losses and handed her opponent her second loss at the Silver Fox Curling Club.

Power defeated Morrow 8-2 in other women’s 9 a.m. action to claim the B final. Power scored four in the 7th end to break open a tight game and hand Morrow her second loss.

In other women’s action at 9 a.m., Dewar made a dramatic tap back double takeout to score two in the 10th end and edge Jennie Whyte of Crapaud 7-6.
