Update: Event was called off after draw 4, after learning of 3 new Covid cases on PEI. The decision was made out of caution, based on a potential exposure, and not because anyone at the event was contacted.

Event notes

A draw to the button will be used to determine last rock. Teams are asked to be ready to go 10 minutes prior to draw time. Each team will be permitted a practice rock up and back (2 per team, player doing the draw to the button). Coin flip will determine rock colour and side of sheet team chooses for draw to the button, this team will go first.
Top 2 teams in each pool will advance to playoffs. Ties will be broken first by head-to-head and then by total draw to the button scores if head-to-head cannot break a tie.
Teams are asked be at the club no earlier than 20 minutes prior to game time and to exit the club no later than 30 minutes prior to the next draw in order to keep the 2 cohorts separate and allow volunteers time to clean and sanitize the seating area behind the glass.

Island Petroleum Cashspiel on for Dec. 4-6

Entries have closed for the annual Island Petroleum Cashspiel, which moved to an open (any combination of players) format this year, and takes place Dec. 4-6 at the Silver Fox in Summerside, 16 teams have signed up.

Organizer Terry Arsenault made the decision to go ahead with the cashspiel following Chief Provincial Health Officer Dr. Heather Morrison’s update on Tuesday morning in which she reported that there are no new cases since the weekend. The event draw will be available later today.
