Andrew Robinson wins PEI Mixed Curling Ch'ship, with a 9-2 victory over Jamie Newson!
Andrew Robinson started off the game down 1-0 after three ends, but came on strong, taking four in the fourth end, stealing a deuce in the fifth, stealing another deuce in the sixth, and picking up a single in the eighth, as he defeated his clubmate from the Charlottetown Curling Club, Jamie Newson, by a 9-2 score to take the PEI Provincial Mixed curling championship, Monday afternoon at the Crapaud Community Curling Club.

Newson, who plays third for Andrew Robinson in men's play, defeated Charlottetown clubmate David Campbell 9-6 on Sunday evening to advance to the Monday final. On Sunday morning, Robinson defeated Paul Matheson of the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club 6-3 to earn a bye to the championship game. In the afternoon draw, Robinson lost a close 7-6 game to Newson, while Campbell eliminated Matheson, also by a 7-6 score.
Other members of the Andrew Robinson rink are Pamela Jay, Tyler Harris and Paula Creamer. The Robinson rink will advance to the Canadian Mixed, January 11-19 in Abbotsford BC.
