The Cornwall Curling Club team of Sterling Stratton and Ernie Stavert are PEI's first Provincial Stick Curling Champions, sweeping the round robin competition at the Montague Curling Club with a perfect 7-0 win-loss record. Runners-up were the team of Walter and Audrey Callaghan from the Western Community Curling Club in Alberton, who finished with a 6-1 record, losing 7-2 to the winning team in their Saturday morning encounter, after the Cornwall rink took a pair in the fifth and stole four points in the final end.
Three teams finished with 3-4 records: Edwin Walker/Clifford Picketts from the Silver Fox, and Howard Kerwin/Evelyn MacClure and Carter VanIderstine/Glyn Peardon, both from Montague.
The remaining three teams: Barry MacDonald/Brent Jackson, Bob Leard/Basil Higginbotham and Sterling Higginbotham/Brent Mutch all from Montague, finshed at 2-5.
