Scotties goes Live with Regis and Kelly and chips in at Kenmac Family Golf Tourney

(CCA) The 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts volunteers waited along aside 3,000 plus excited fans at the  Tuesday, July 13th taping of Live with Regis and Kelly. Over the two days Regis and Kelly taped four shows, two which aired live from Confederation Landing on the Charlottetown waterfront.  The show attracted thousands of people of all ages, featuring not only international stars such as band One Republic but highlighting some of our very own local chefs.  Throughout the week Regis and Kelly shed light on various attractions on everything from lobster fishing to Anne of Green Gables.

Sporting their royal blue tee-shirts volunteers stood out amongst the sea of people, circulating throughout the crowd spreading the word about the Scotties. The volunteers distributed temporary logo tattoos and encouraged people to find out more about the Scotties coming to Charlottetown in February of 2011.

Meanwhile, golfers from every age group teed off at the The Kenmac Family Golf Tournament at the Belvedere golf course on Thursday, July 15th. Robbie Doherty, Director of Community Events for the Scotties, set up an information booth displaying ticketing information on the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Throughout the day volunteers enjoyed some laughs, food and drinks while creating a buzz that while golf season may soon be coming to an end, curling is just around the corner.   Participants were encouraged to pick up a broom once retiring their putters and to get involved in what is sure to be an unforgettable event for Charlottetown.
