Share Your Story...

(Province of PEI Tourism and Culture)

Islanders and visitors will have the opportunity this week at the Scotties to tell their stories about why they love the Island, says Tourism and Culture Minister Robert Vessey.

“I encourage people to stop into our Heart of the Island booth at the Civic Centre and tell us what they think makes our province unique,” said the minister. “We will be using information from their testimonials to develop future promotions of the Island that are real and authentic.”

People can share their stories in several ways. At the booth, they can submit a written entry or take part in an informal video interview. They can also go online at www.shareyourpei.com to enter their story, photo or video. Entrants can win daily prizes and a grand prize of an Apple IPad.

“We want to capture some of the great buzz about Prince Edward Island that is being created through events like the LIVE! With Regis and Kelly visit, and now the Scotties, ECMAs and the Royal Visit,” said Minister Vessey. “The feedback we get about the heart of the Island can help us to promote our many products to the world – whether they are tourism, seafood or agricultural products, health careers, or business development opportunities.”

The Scotties are being held through Feb. 27 at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
