The 16 best teams in the world will be in Summerside in less than a month

The Capital One Grand Slam of Curling GP Car and Home Players’ Championship  in Summerside is less than a month away, and the teams are now known for the event, April 17-22 at The Eastlink Arena at Credit Union Place.  The Players’ Championship features a separate men’s and women’s draw consisting of the world’s top 8 ranked teams from the 2011-12 season.

Here are the teams that are coming:

Men: Kevin Martin, Glenn Howard, Jeff Stoughton, Brad Gushue (with Summerside native Adam Casey), Niklas Edin (Sweden), Kevin Koe, Mike McEwen and John Epping.

Women: Jennifer Jones, Sherry Middaugh, Heather Nedohin, Eve Muirhead (Scotland), Silvana Tirinzoni (Switzerland), Cathy Overton-Clapham, Chelsea Carey and Stephanie Lawton.

Kevin Martin and Jennifer Jones were last year’s champions.

Full event passes are still available at $157.50 a seat, while Flex packages are also on sale now, with the Evening and Weekend Pass, which includes all 7:30 pm draws throughout the week and also includes all weekend draws, available for $95.00, and the Grand Slam Flex Pass, which is valid for 7 round robin draws for 11 total admissions, and also includes semi-finals and finals as well as any tiebreakers if necessary, available for $125.00.

Individual draw tickets will go on sale later this month.
