Holland College splits opening day draws at Canadian College Ch’ships

The Canadian College Invitational Curling Championships, hosted by Fleming College, and taking place at the Peterborough Curling Club, got underway yesterday, and wrap up on Saturday. Holland College, represented by the men’s team of Christian Tolusso (skip), Alex Sutherland (3rd), Taylor McInnis (2nd), Patrick Moore (lead), Angela Hodgson (coach) split their opening day games, losing 9-3 to the Jason Whitehill rink from Fleming, and defeating Humber’s Mike Checca team 11-5, aided greatly by a 7 point 3rd end. The PEI rink plays St. Clair, Red Deer, and the Sault today. Eight men’s and eight women’s rinks are competing, from Ontario, Alberta, and PEI, with the finals going Saturday afternoon.

The college curling championships have been brought back this year after a break of close to 20 years.
