The Crystal Webster rink, which includes PEI natives Erin Carmody at third and second stone Geri-Lynn Ramsay, are home in Calgary this weekend competing in the $54,000 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic, a Grand Slam event won last year by the Cathy Overton-Clapham rink, and hosted by the Calgary Curling Club. The event wraps up on Monday. The team will be providing updates throughout the weekend on Facebook (look for “Team Webster”), and on their newly-launched Twitter account, @team_webster. Live results will be available at http://www.worldcurl.com/events.php?eventid=2780
Team Webster’s first opponent, at 1:15 MT (4:15 Atlantic) this afternoon, will be quite familiar to Carmody and Ramsay – it’s the Andrea Crawford rink out of Fredericton NB. Crawford, formerly Kelly, is a former Canadian Junior champion and five-time New Brunswick Scotties winner, and is teamed up with Rebecca Atkinson at third, former Haligonian Danelle Parsons at second, and lead Jodie deSolla.
