PEI’s Birt drops to 0-3 after close Scotties loss to Team Canada (Nedohin)

PEI’s Suzanne Birt rink made an attempt to take out several Team Canada (Heather Nedohin) rocks in the final end of their game this afternoon at the Scotties in Kingston, but removed one only, coming out on the short end of a 6-5 decision, to fall to 0-3.

End 1: PEI narrowly misses cross-house double. Nedohin draws for 2 in first end

End 2: Team Canada makes a great double. PEI, facing three. draws a single. Team Canada leads PEI 2-1 after 2

End 3: Conservatively-played 3rd end. Fullerton makes clutch double early on. Team Canada hits and sticks for 1. Team Canada leads 3-1

End 4: Birt makes a nice draw to the four foot for one. Team Canada leads by 1 after 4

End 5: PEI forces Team Canada to draw for 1 in the 5th. Nedohin is heavy and PEI steals 1. Game tied 3-3

End 6: PEI forces Team Canada to take 1 in the 6th

End 7: Blanked – Team Canada leads by 1 heading into 8th end. PEI has hammer.

End 8: PEI hits for 1 against 3 in the 8th. All tied between Team Canada and PEI after 8.

End 9: Team Canada draws for 2 in 9. PEI down 2 coming home with hammer.
