PEI ends play at the Scotties with 5-6 record

PEI’s Suzanne Birt rink finished play at this year’s Scotties this afternoon, with a 5-6 win-loss record, not good enough to make the playoffs, after losing 10-2 to Ontario’s Rachel Homan rink in a game that went seven ends. For the last two ends, Shelly Bradley moved up to skip and alternate Stefanie Clark stepped in. Ontario led 5-0 after two, 8-1 after 5 ends, and 8-2 after 6. It was handshake time when they picked up a deuce in the seventh end. Ontario has a 9-1 record going into their final round robin match against Team Canada, skipped by Heather Nedohin, tonight.
