The World Curling Tour kicks off this weekend with the Baden Masters in Switzerland, and two-time event winners, the Brad Gushue rink from St. John’s, which includes PEI natives Brett Gallant and Adam Casey, will be there, as the only Canadian entry in the 20 team field. The triple-knockout event has a total purse of $32,500 Swiss francs (about $37,000 Canadian dollars). The Sven Michel rink from Switzerland are back, looking to capture their third consecutive championship at the event. $11,000 Swiss francs goes to the winning team. Team Gushue lost out in the quarter-final round last year.
Opening draws go Friday at 8 am Central European Time (3 am Atlantic), with the finals Sunday at 1:30 pm (8:30 am Atlantic)
