MacKenzie wins 6-4 over Newson and is heading to BC (Eastern Graphic)

Eddie MacKenzie and his team from the Charlottetown Curling Complex pulled out a win over Jamie Newson in the 6-4 final in the provincial curling championships at the Montague curling club on Sunday night.

This is the fourth time for MacKenzie representing the Island at the national championship and he said this year’s tankard was certainly a few days of serious curling.

“We’re pleased to repeat and it was no easy task coming out on top,” he said.
