Recap: Eddie MacKenzie rink wins Provincial Mixed

The Provincial Mixed Curling Championship wrapped up on March 17 at the Charlottetown Curling Complex, with the host club rink of skip Eddie MacKenzie, third Chloé McCloskey, second Tyler MacKenzie, and lead stone Megan Wile defeating the Cody Dixon rink from Montague 7-4 in the championship final.

MacKenzie won the A final of the modified triple knockout draw, 9-4 over George Koke of Montague. Dixon beat MacKenzie 7-5 to win the B, while defending champion Jamie Newson of Charlottetown won the C, by an 8-2 score over Andy Morris and his rink from the Maple Leaf and Western Community clubs. Dixon and Newson then squared off in the semi-final, with Dixon winning 6-4 to advance to the final vs. MacKenzie.

Other members of the runner-up Dixon foursome are Tammy Dewar, Mike Clarey, and Aleya Quilty. Eight rinks took part in the event.

The winning MacKenzie rink will now advance to the 2016 Canadian Mixed, Nov 7-14 2015 at the Weston Golf and Country Club in Toronto.
