PEI rink falls to 1-7 at Canadian Firefighters in Winnipeg

The Crossroads Fire Department team of Jerry Hughes, Ken McGregor, Peter MacDonald, and Bill MacPhee fell to a 1-7 round robin win-loss record, and will not advance to the four team Page playoff round, following two losses today at the 55th Canadian Firefighters Curling Championship, being played at the Fort Rouge Curling Club in Winnipeg, The Island squad  lost 7-3 to Northern Ontario in the morning draw, and 7-1 to New Brunswick. also in six ends, in the afternoon.

PEI will finish up play against first place Saskatchewan (6-1) on Thursday morning, and have a bye in the afternoon’s final round robin draw.

BC has two losses in the event, with NB, Alberta, Manitoba, and Southern Ont. having 3.. Northern Ont.Northern Ont. have 4, while Quebec has five, and Nova Scotia has 6. The semi-final goes on Saturday with the final on Sunday.
