SUMMERSIDE – The Kaleigh Mackay rink will wear P.E.I.’s green and white colours on the national stage in February.
Skip Kaleigh Mackay calls a shot during Saturday afternoon’s play in the P.E.I. Canada Games women’s curling trials at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside. Mackay will represent P.E.I. at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, B.C., in February.

It wasn’t an easy road for the Mackay rink, which plays out of the Crapaud and Montague clubs. Mackay and Lauren Moerike’s Charlottetown Curling Complex rink, also consisting of third stone Ashley Gallant, second stone Annika Kelly and lead Tati Kelly, went the distance in the best-of-three trials final series.
And the deciding game came right down to the wire. Moerike went into the 10th end trailing 6-5 with the hammer, but Mackay was able to steal one for a 7-5 victory.
