Team Canada outscores Birt rink at Scotties. Island squad still in playoff contention (Journal)

MOOSE JAW, Sask. –P.E.I.’s Suzanne Birt rink dropped back to the .500 mark at the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Wednesday night.

Birt fell 9-5 to Team Canada’s Rachel Homan in Draw 13 of the Canadian women’s curling championship. Homan improved to 6-2 (won-lost) while Birt, third stone Shelly Bradley, second stone Michelle McQuaid and lead Susan McInnis, who are still in playoff contention, are now 4-4.

Birt faces Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones (7-1) and Ontario’s Julie Hastings (4-4) on Thursday.
