Smith advances to WFG Jim Sullivan Classic final, MacPhee loses close game in semis

It’ll be Cornwall PEI’s Veronica Smith rink facing Moncton’s Sylvie Robichaud foursome in the 3 pm Women’s final at the WFG Jim Sullivan Classic in Saint John. Smith beat Shelly Graham and her Moncton rink 6-2 in this morning’s quarter-final, and Jennifer Armstrong of Fredericton 7-3 in the semi-final round to advance to this afternoon’s championship game. Robichaud scored a triple in the 7th end to get by Charlottetown’s Robyn MacPhee team by a 7-5 score.

Jamie Murphy of Halifax faces Wayne Tallon of Fredericton in the men’s final, also at 3 pm.
