The Veronica Smith rink from the Cornwall Curling Club finished as runners-up to the Sylvie Robichaud team in the 10 team women’s division of the WFG Jim Sullivan Classic cashspiel, which wrapped up this afternoon in Saint John NB. Smith was leading he women’s final 6-4 after six ends, but Robichaud scored a triple in the 7th and stole a single in the eighth for the 8-6 come-from-behind win.

Jamie Murphy of Halifax beat Wayne Tallon of Fredericton 7-4 in the men’s event final. The Smith rink will be coming home with $1.150 for their 2nd place finish, while Robichaud picks up $1,750. PEI’s Robyn MacPhee rink lost out in the semi-finals, and will receive $750. No PEI teams were entered in the men’s division this year.
