Suzanne Birt rink semi-finalists at The Curling Store Cashspiel in Lower Sackville NS

The Suzanne Birt team are in the money, making it to the Sunday semi-finals of the eleven team The Curling Store Cashspiel in Lower Sackville NS, where they lost a close 4-3 decision to Jill Brothers and her Halifax rink, which includes PEI’s Erin Carmody at third stone, after Brothers stole the final end. Birt went undefeated at 4-0 in the round robin.

Mary-Anne Arsenault and her Dartmouth Curling Club team stole the last three ends to break open a tie game with Brothers in the final, winning 6-3. Arsenault and her team of 3rd Christina Black, second stone Jenn Baxter, and lead Emma Logan went undefeated in the event with a 6-0 record.

PEI’s Melissa Morrow went 1-3 in the event, picking up a 6-4 win over Mary Myketyn-Driscoll of Halifax.

Stuart Thompson of Dartmouth beat Kendal Thompson of Halifax 6-2 to win the men’s event for the third year in a row.
