PEI women’s teams skipped by Birt and Bradley are in The Curling Store Cashspiel this weekend in Lower Sackville NS

The Curling Store Cashspiel goes this weekend, September 25-27, at the Lakeshore Curling Club in Lower Sackville NS. The CurlingZone results website lists seven teams, all from Nova Scotia, on the men’s side of the event, while the women’s event shows twelve teams, including PEI rinks skipped by Suzanne Birt and Shelly Bradley, as well as Islanders Erin Carmody and Lauren Ferguson on the Jill Brothers and Taylour Stevens rinks, respectively, from Halifax.

Last year Team Birt, who went undefeated at 4-0 in the round-robin, lost a close 4-3 decision to Brothers, who stole the final end. Mary-Anne Arsenault was the event winner. Arsenault, who has represented Nova Scotia 14 times at the Scotties, will not be back this year, as she has moved west to skip the team previously led by Kelly Scott.
