PEI women have one win at The Dominion

With one men’s draw remaining in day two of The Dominion Curling Club Championship at the St. George’s Curling Club in Toronto, the PEI women’s team, skipped by Vanessa Hamming of the Crapaud Community Curling Club, are 1-2, while the men’s team, from the Silver Fox, skipped by Louis Walsh, are 0-2.

The PEI women lost to Saskatchewan 8-1 in the last draw, while the men are currently trailing Saskatchewan 5-1 after three ends. Scores from previous games are not currently available on the event website. Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan are currently undefeated on the men’s side, while Alberta, Ontario, and Manitoba are still unbeaten in the women’s section.

The PEI teams play Nova Scotia and Ontario on Friday, and Newfoundland/Labrador on Saturday.  The men’s and women’s section each have two pools of seven teams. The finals go Sunday at 3 pm Atlantic.

PEICA Entry deadlines reminder

The entry deadline for the Island Petroleum Junior Mixed Provincial Curling Championship, for mixed curling teams age 20 and under,  is Saturday November 28th.  This event takes place from Dec. 26-29 at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club. Entry fee is $35 per player.

The entry deadline for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Provincial Women’s Curling Championship is Dec. 5.  The  Scotties takes place at the Montague Curling Club from Jan. 2-5.  Entry fee is $50 per player, plus a $25 per player CCA Competitor Card fee.

The entry deadline for the Labatt Tankard Provincial Men’s Curling Championship is December 24th.  The Open Playdowns portion of this event goes January 21-24 at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside, with the top eight teams advancing to the Final Eight championship round, February 2-7 at the Western Community Curling Club in O’Leary. Entry fee is $50 per player, plus a $25 per player CCA Competitor Card fee.
