Three Island rinks have advanced to the championship round of the Dave Jones Cashspiel, an Atlantic Curling Tour event, which wraps up today at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax, with the men’s and women’s quarter-finals at 9 am, the semis at noon, and the finals at 3 pm.

In the triple-knockout men’s section, PEI’s Adam Casey rink won a B flight qualifier, and plays Tommy Sullivan from the C flight in quarter-final action at 9 am. It’s Brent MacDougall (B) vs Mike Flemming (C) in the other quarter.

The winner of the Casey/Sullivan game takes on A qualifier Jeremy Mallais in the noon semis, while the MacDougall/Flemming winner faces the other A qualifier, Alan O’Leary. The semi winners face off at 3 pm in the final.

The other PEI men’s rink in the event, skipped by Tyler MacKenzie, did not manage to pick up a win.

PEI’s Kim Dolan rink was the only undefeated team in the round robin women’s division and earned a bye to one of the noon semi-finals, while Jocelyn Nix (3-1) earned the other bye. Heather Smith (3-1) takes on Mary-Anne Arsenault (2-2), both from Halifax, in one of the 9 am quarter-finals, with PEI’s Kathy O’Rourke rink (3-1) playing Sarah Rhyno (2-2) in the other. PEI’s Suzanne Birt rink finished at 2-2, but did not advance to the money round. The final is at 3.
