Gushue rink advances to semi-finals at Swiss Cup

The Brad Gushue rink, which includes PEI native Brett Gallant at second, is currently playing in the semi-finals of the Swiss Cup World Curling Tour event in Bazel Switzerland. The team lost their first game in the event, but then had 5 consecutive wins to advance to the quarters earlier this morning, where they beat the Rasmus Stjerne rink from Copenhagen, Denmark 5-2 to advance to the semi-final, against Kyle Smith of Scotland. Jaap van Dorp of the Netherlands is playing Kalle Kiiskinen of Finland in the other semi. The final goes at 2:45 pm Central European Time (9:45 am AT).

In the quarters, Gushue is leading Smith 3-0 after two ends of play, picking up a second end triple.
