Curling startup update

The curling season will soon be in full swing across PEI. Crapaud is wrapping up its Pre-Season curling, and will be beginning its regular season on Nov. 9, while Cornwall started league play on October 19. The Charlottetown Curling Complex began league play this week, while icemaking is just wrapping up in Montague. The Montague Curling Club are using Jet Ice End to End plastic sheets on their ice this year, with sponsor logos on some of the houses.

Meanwhile. the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside is hosting an Open house on November 1st, 2-4pm for Juniors, and 7-9pm for Adults. The Summerside Chrysler Dodge Opening Bonspiel takes place November 6-7.

The Western Community Curling Club in Alberton, and the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary, in conjunction with the Western Region Sport & Recreation Council, are holding FREE no-obligation “Try Curling” sessions, Oct. 27-29 at Western, and Nov. 2-5 at the Maple Leaf. Times for all sessions are 7-9 pm. Equipment required: warm clothing, indoor sneakers, helmets for elementary school aged children (mandatory).
