P.E.I. rinks defeat Northwest Territories, round-robin play at Canadian junior championships concludes Tuesday (Journal)

P.E.I.’s two representatives at the 2019 New Holland Canadian junior curling championships are headed into the final day of round-robin play on winning notes.

The Lauren Ferguson rink from the Cornwall Curling Club (1-4 won-lost) scored five in the sixth end en route to an 11-5 decision over the Northwest Territories on Monday night. Also in the same draw, Tyler Smith’s squad (2-3 won-lost) from the Charlottetown Curling Complex counted two four-enders in a 13-4 win over the Northwest Territories.

The top four teams from each seven-team pool advance to the championship round while the remaining teams will compete in a seeding pool.
