Canada’s Brett Gallant rink made short work of their Page 1-2 game against Denmark today at the World Juniors in Vancouver, winning by an 11-5 score in only eight ends, and advancing directly to Sunday’s final. A deuce in end five, followed by a steal of SIX points in the sixth put the game out of reach for the Danes. In that end, the Danish skip had a chance to save the end by making a double-takeout with his last shot. He missed, giving up the costly steal.
The defending champion USA team beat Sweden 7-5 in the Page 3-4 game, and advance to the semi-final tonight at 11 against Denmark, with the winner of that game playing Gallant tomorrow.
The gold-medal game is at 5 pm Atlantic on Sunday.
