– The Brett Gallant Junior Men’s team will return tonight from Vancouver after winning Silver at the World Junior Curling Championships.
– They arrive at the Charlottetown airport just before midnight tonight and will be honoured at a reception tomorrow night, Tuesday March 17th at 6:00pm at the Charlottetown Curling Club.
– Brett Gallant, Adam Casey, Anson Carmody, and Jamie Danbrook will arrive at the club in a parade from City Hall following Kent Street, University Avenue, and Euston Street. Parade starts at 5:30 pm.
– Parade to include police cruiser, marching band, Team Gallant and city mayor in convertibles, fire truck
– All junior curlers are invited to participate in the parade, and should meet at City Hall at 5:00 pm to get organized. Please bring your curling brush.
– Team Gallant will arrive at the Charlottetown Curling club at 6:00 pm and will be presented with Keys to the City by Mayor Clifford Lee; an honour given to only four other people in the last ten years.
– Other dignitaries scheduled to be in attendance are Premier Robert Ghiz, and members of the 1977 World Junior Men’s team
– CBC’s Compass will be broadcasting live from the Charlottetown Curling Club
– Everyone is welcome to attend the reception, which will include food and Celtic music into the evening. Bring your Canadian flags and welcome the boys home!
