Nova Scotia, Manitoba women meet in first-place showdown tonight (Journal)

SUMMERSIDE — Nova Scotia’s Colleen Pinkney and Manitoba’s Lois Fowler are headed for a first-place showdown at the 2009 Canadian senior curling championships today.
Nova Scotia, which faces P.E.I.’s Shirley Berry (2-6) this afternoon, leads the women’s field at 8-0 (won-lost). Manitoba takes a 9-1 record into its final round-robin game against Nova Scotia at 7:30 p.m.
“We came with the expectations of doing well, have a good record and try to get to the playoffs,” said Nova Scotia third stone Wendy Currie. “We love the ice, we’re having a great time, we’re enjoying all the curling we’re doing and all the teams.
