The 50th annual Canadian Firefighters Muscular Dystrophy Hydrant Curling Championship gets underway today at the Charlottetown Curling Club.
The host committee has put on the finishing touches on everything from the opening ceremonies to the presentation of the storied Hydrant Trophy.
Team P.E.I. is a foursome from the Montague Fire Department.
The team is skipped by Jeff Nelson, with third Mike Clarey, second Tommy MacLeod and lead George Koke. Dusty MacLure is the team’s fifth.
There are 12 provincial and territorial teams from across Canada competing.
The opening ceremonies start today at 12 p.m. and the public is invited to attend.
