B.C. women advance

SUMMERSIDE — An eighth-end deuce and a key triple takeout by third stone Kerri Miller keyed a 6-5 semifinal win for British Columbia’s Kathy Smiley over Manitoba’s Lois Fowler at the 2009 Canadian senior curling championships Friday night.
The win sends the rink from the Royal City Curling Club in New Westminster to today’s final against Nova Scotia’s Colleen Pinkney (10-1) at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club. Game time is 2 p.m.
