Casey rink wins first of two tiebreakers at Univ. Ch’ships

UPEI’s Adam Casey rink are in tiebreakers at the CIS/CCA Canadian University Championships in Montreal. They won their first tiebreaker against Nova Scotia’s St. FX team, and hit the ice at 1 pm Atlantic against Alberta. All three teams finished tied for second place in their pool with 3-2 records after round robin play. University of Regina finished first place in one pool, with the University of Montreal in first in the other.

 The men’s semis are currently scheduled for 4 pm, Women’s tiebreakers, if required, go at 9:30 pm Atlantic. Women’s semis are set for 10 am AT on Sunday, with  the men’s and women’s finals going at 3 pm Atlantic time.

The winning teams will advance to the 2010 Karuizawa International Curling Championships, which take place late February in Japan.
