PEI’s Kathy O’Rourke rink beat the Newfoundland  and Labrador team, skipped by Shelley Nichols, by a 9-5 score this afternoon at the Scotties in Sault Ste. Marie, building up a 7-1 lead after four ends, and keeping ahead by a 7-4  score after six. A deuce in the  eighth helped seal the win.

PEI is all alone in first place, with an 8-2 win-loss record, followed by Ontario at 7-3, and Team Canada and Manitoba at 6-3.

PEI  wraps up round robin play against BC at 4 pm AT.
