The John Likely foursome, last year’s runners-up, have been eliminated from further play at the Labatt Tankard Final Six competition in Alberton, losing 8-3 to eight-time Tankard winner Robert Campbell this evening in tiebreaker play. Campbell, with teammates Steve Burgess, Jamie Newson, and Rob Doherty, now face the Eddie MacKenzie rink in the noon Sunday semi-finals. MacKenzie’s team includes Mike Gaudet, Tyler Harris and Sean Clarey. The winner of the semi will face the undefeated Rod MacDonald rink, includes Kevin Champion, Andrew Robinson, and Mark O’Rourke, with 5th player Peter MacDonald, in the final, Sunday at 6 pm. MacKenzie, Campbell, and Likely all finished round-robin play with 3-2 win-loss records.

The winner of Sunday’s final will advance to  the Tim Hortons Brier, March 6-14 in Halifax.
