PEI loses opener to NS at Canadian Firefighters

The Gordon MacFadyen rink from the Summerside Fire Department lost their opener, 6-5 to Nova Scotia (Greg Oikle from Bridgewater) at the  51st annual Canadian Fire Fighters Muscular Dystrophy Hydrant Curling Championship, which got underway today  in Regina. Other members of the PEI team are Jim Arsenault (lead), Dwayne MacNeil (2nd), and Leo Stewart (3rd). Joining Nova Scotia with wins in the opening draw are defending champion Jeff Gartner rink from the host Reginal Fire Department, and the teams from Quebec, New Brunswick, BC, and Alberta. Round robin play resumes at 10 am Regina time (1 pm Atlantic) on Sunday.
